Elementary Lead Teacher (Grades 3-5)

The Opportunity:
Buckhead Prep is accepting applications for Lead Teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. Lead Teachers design and deliver dynamic, literacy-rich experiences that support foundational learning and whole-child development.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with BPS curriculum (UFLI Foundations & Singapore Math).
  • Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs, utilizing small-group instruction.
  • Create a safe, inclusive environment that fosters independence and a love for learning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with parents through formal reports and conferences.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Associate Teacher to ensure a cohesive classroom partnership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • State teaching certification for Elementary grades (K–5).
  • Experience with structured literacy (Orton-Gillingham/Science of Reading) and Singapore Math is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate instruction.

Associate Teacher (Grades K-5)

The Opportunity:
Buckhead Prep is hiring talented, dedicated educators to serve as Associate Teachers. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support high-quality instruction and foster strong classroom communities. This role is ideal for educators wishing to gain hands-on experience and develop their craft.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and facilitating small group work.
  • Help maintain a focused, respectful, and joyful learning environment.
  • Assist with daily logistics, including preparing materials and supervising recess/carpool.
  • Monitor student performance and communicate observations regularly with the Lead Teacher.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education or a related field.
  • A proactive, energetic, and collaborative work style.
  • A desire to innovate and grow within the profession.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to connect with young children.

Part-Time Physical Education Teacher (Grades K-5)  2 Days / Week

The Opportunity:
Buckhead Prep is seeking an energetic, part-time Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. In just two days per week (approximately 10 hours), you will design and lead active, joyful PE experiences that build fitness, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship for our K–5 students. It's a role with real impact and a genuinely life-friendly footprint—ideal for an educator who loves getting kids moving but also values time for everything else. Reporting to the Head of School, you'll partner closely with classroom teachers to weave physical wellness into the wider school community. Depending on school needs and your interests, this position may be paired with an Associate Teacher role at a specific grade level.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver developmentally appropriate PE lessons that promote fitness, coordination, and teamwork.
  • Teach fundamental motor skills, good sportsmanship, and healthy habits for elementary-aged students.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Organize and lead structured activities scaled to varied abilities and developmental levels.
  • Assess student participation, effort, and progress in physical education.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce movement-based learning across the curriculum.
  • Ensure the safe use and upkeep of PE equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related field.
  • State teaching certification in Physical Education preferred.
  • Experience teaching PE or coaching young children in a school or recreational setting.
  • Strong grounding in child development, movement-based learning, and fitness education.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and modify activities for diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, drug testing, and safety training is required.
