Distinguishing Program Features

The BPS Crystal Model

Buckhead Prep’s literacy program uses integrated facets that reinforce each other. We introduce skills in brisk sequences to build momentum while ensuring every student feels known and supported.

Accelerated Mastery Blocks

We introduce phonetic sounds in high-impact sequences to build momentum while preserving strict mastery expectations.

Momentum-Driven Progression

Students move through controlled text sequences based on demonstrated success, preventing plateaus and creating frequent proof points of growth.

Systematic Building Blocks

Instruction is explicitly sequenced so skills develop predictably rather than incidentally.

Daily Precision

Brief, highly focused daily instruction maximizes repetition and feedback without fatigue, supporting steady, cumulative gains.

Writing-to-Read

Encoding (writing) is used as a core lever to solidify sound–symbol relationships, strengthening reading through reciprocal practice.

High-Touch Relationships

Warm, responsive teaching is a program feature, not a byproduct. Emotional safety enables the immediate feedback students need to take risks.

Primary Math

Building Number Sense

The Buckhead Prep Primary Math Program builds a strong foundation in numbers and logical thinking for children 18 months - 5 years. Through hands-on exploration, real-world connections, and engaging activities, our youngest students develop number sense, problem-solving skills, and confidence in math. Specifically:

  • Connecting numbers to quantities and building counting fluency to 100+
  • Exploring basic operations, shapes, patterns, and spatial relationships
  • Introducing measurement, time, money, and simple data concepts through everyday experiences
  • Encouraging critical thinking

Concepts are introduced and demonstrated in relatable contexts—ensuring the children see math as practical and fun. This prepares them exceptionally well for top-tiered Elementary programs and fosters a lifelong love of learning.

Criteria-Based Progress

At Buckhead Prep, progress is criteria-based rather than time-based. Students advance when they demonstrate readiness across observable indicators—accuracy, fluency, and comprehension. This allows for both acceleration for advanced learners and timely reinforcement when additional practice is needed.

90-98%

of our students are admitted to their top-choice private schools when applying for Pre-First.
