Our Vision

A premier K–5 neighborhood school where children master foundational academics, grow resilient and curious, and leave ready to succeed in the best schools locally, regionally, and globally, and to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Founding

Founded by Tammy Wingate, an award-winning educator with over 30 years' experience, including Fortune 500 executive training and educating students from New York City to Miami to Atlanta. BPS was established to address a clear need in Buckhead: high-quality early childhood education with a strong academic backbone at an exceptional value..

A New Home

Driven by rapid growth, the school relocated to its current campus: a serene, 13-acre wooded setting on the grounds of Northwest Presbyterian Church near Chastain Park.

Kindergarten Expansion

BPS expanded to include Kindergarten, solidifying its reputation for preparing students for Atlanta's top independent schools through its proven rapid-learn reading curriculum.

Elementary Growth

While many schools remained closed during the pandemic, BPS met family needs by expanding to offer a full elementary education, adding grades 1–5 over three years.

A Full Continuum

Buckhead Prep now serves students from age 18 months through 5th grade, combining early literacy excellence with a robust elementary program emphasizing core skills and confidence.
